Custom Charts on Storygraph

I have been loving the custom charts feature since it came out earlier this year! My goal has been to catalogue all the books I own, as well as those on my TBR that I get through NetGalley, Everand (Scribd), BookBeat or any library subscriptions, which this has been amazing for! I am very much a mood reader, so unless I have a firm deadline (like a blog tour or book club meeting) to finish a book by, I really struggle to figure out what I want to read next. I’ve made several charts to help me sort my library, filter through the kinds of books I have, how I’ve acquired them, sorted them by length, sometimes by niche. I would love it if the next Storygraph update came with an filter and chart for tropes, based on what people write in their reviews!

Read Books:

I love tracking the tropes in romance novels. My chart is still a work in progress, as I’m manually inputting all the information. I also track how many book clubs I’ve read books for and what platforms I read on, so I know which subscriptions to keep.

Owned Books:

I love seeing how many special editions I own! Getting books signed or buying pre-signed editions is such a lovely treat, but I also love seeing sprayed edges on books, as well as stamps from bookshops. Because I travel a lot, I keep books in different places, such as my parents’ house, my in-laws’ place, or at my apartment. It helps to keep track and despite having a visual memory, it’s useful to keep a reference of where things are! I also check how I get new books, whether they’ve been bought new, whether I have thrifted them from secondhand bookshops, charity shops or online stores, or whether they have been gifted to me from family or publishers.

To-Read Books:

Whenever I struggle with picking my next read, I prefer to sort what I have available to me by length, especially audiobooks. Whenever I click on the different categories, because they are also tagged with the platform I listen to them on, so I can easily find them. Similarly for ebooks and physical copies, sometimes you feel ready for a longer read but other times you want a quick novella. I have also been getting into Sports Romances this year so I’m tracking the novels I want to read by sport, clearly F1 is the front runner.
