⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.75 Review – The Ex Vows by Jessica Joyce
As far as summer romances go, this was the perfect book to kick off my first bout of annual leave and great for keeping me awake late into the night for Midsummer’s! Thank you to @what_emreadnext @bantambooksuk for providing me with a proof copy in exchange for a review!

This story follows Georgia and Eli, high school best friends, then lovers and now estranged exes, as they’re pushed together to organise their best friend’s wedding. With many twists, turns and complications with the wedding planning, they realise they can’t avoid each other or their history and things come to a head. With some fun moments, like only one bed in the hotel, wedding suppliers mistaking them for the couple getting married, and a good amount of pressure from friends and family, they have to work together to make sure the wedding goes smoothly.
I am normally not a fan of second-chance romances, but @jessicajoycewrites writes such compelling redemption stories. From my reading, Georgia and Eli were kids with baggage when they got together and they couldn’t talk through their issues in order to help each other. But ultimately, as the story develops, you can see both of them taking the necessary steps to realise it wasn’t the other person’s fault, they each had some growing to do. Ultimately, right person, wrong time, and now the timing was right too!
This story was about friendship, the family you find, rather than the one you’re born with, and coming to terms with the things you can control and the things you can only control your reaction to. This book was honestly so cathartic and therapeutic that I felt lighter after having read it!
