Blog Tour – Home Sweet Home by Amy Lavelle

I had the pleasure of reading Amy Lavelle’s latest novel, Home Sweet Home, and I must say I was thoroughly impressed. This heartwarming story tells the tale of four sisters who inherit their childhood home, and have to make a choice of selling it but is anything ever that simple when it comes to family? With a fun cast of characters in the form of distant relatives, housemates, boyfriends and in-laws, this makes for a funny, heartfelt and relatable read.

The sisters, each with their own problems, must come together to clear out the house for sale. Poppy, the oldest sister, has always been the responsible one, but her recent promotion creates tension with her fiancรฉ and temptation she didn’t realize was there from a colleague who was now her boss. Saffron, the second oldest, is overwhelmed with her work, housemates and love life and has no one to confide in. Rosemary, the middle child, is struggling with wedding planning and needs her sisters more than ever. And Sorrel, the youngest, is keen to prove herself to her sisters and disappears to London after finding out she’s pregnant.

The story is told from each sister’s perspective, and their individual stories intertwine, making for a captivating read. Lavelle’s writing style is delightful, with a perfect balance of humour and heart. The particulars of each sister’s life become more convoluted by the chapter, leaving the reader eager to turn the page and find out what happens next.

What I loved most about Home Sweet Home was its portrayal of the importance of family. Each sister has her own struggles, but they come together to support one another during tough times. Their bond is heartwarming and will leave you feeling warm and fuzzy inside.

Overall, I highly recommend Home Sweet Home to anyone who enjoys a heartwarming family drama. It’s a story that will keep you entertained from beginning to end.

I would like to thank Yadira at Orion Books for sending me a final copy of Home Sweet Home in exchange for a review as part of the blog tour.
